PP Rods

Shop qualified PP rods. PP rod is a semi-crystalline material. It is harder than PE and has a higher melting point. Since homopolymer PP is very brittle when the temperature is above 0℃, many commercial PP materials are random copolymers with 1~4% ethylene or clamp copolymers with a higher ratio of ethylene content.

What is features of PP rods

PP rods have strength stiffness, hardness and heat resistance are better than low pressure polyethylene, can be used at about 100 degrees.

With good electrical properties and high frequency insulation is not affected by humidity, but low temperature brittle, not wear resistant, easy to aging. Suitable for making general machinery parts, corrosion parts and insulation parts.

What is the forming characteristics of PP rods

The forming characteristics of polypropylene rod are:

Crystal material, low hygroscopicity, easy to melt rupture, long-term contact with hot metal easy to decompose.

Good liquidity, but the shrinkage range and shrinkage value is large, prone to shrinkage.

Cooling speed, casting system and cooling system should be slow heat dissipation, and pay attention to control the molding temperature. When the material temperature is low temperature and high pressure, it is easy to orientate. When the mold temperature is lower than 50 degrees, the plastic parts are not smooth, and it is easy to produce poor welding and flow marks. Warping deformation is easy to occur above 90 degrees.

Plastic wall thickness must be uniform, avoid lack of glue, sharp Angle, to prevent stress concentration.

What are the advantages of pp rods

low moisture absorption

good chemical resistance

low cost

extrumely toughness

easy to fabricate and weld

What is the application of PP rods

PP rods can be used for chemical tanks , plating tanks , firetruck water tanks , cutting bord for foot preparation , semiconductor equipment cabinets and work surfaces .

Of course , above application based on Copolymer PP sheets , although PPC sheet is softer , it offers better impact strength and tends to have better stress resistance and toughness even at low temperatures compared to PPH sheets .
